Summer Science: Rainbows

Summer is the perfect time to explore and learn fun new things about the world around us! Take advantage of the longer days and (hopefully!) more free time to get outside with the kids in your life and celebrate science.

What better time to learn about light and rainbows than during the summer? There's more light during the day and you're already outside playing in water some of the time. Why not bust out the water hose, put your back to the sun, make a fine spray, and watch the rainbow form! Point out the colors and name them with your younger kids, and take the opportunity to teach your older kids about the light spectrum.
