Summer Science: Bugs are everywhere!

Summer is the perfect time to explore and learn fun new things about the world around us! Take advantage of the longer days and (hopefully!) more free time to get outside with the kids in your life and celebrate science.

Every kid is fascinated with bugs at some point in their life. Why not encourage that fascination? There are so many great ways to study insects during the summer. Find an ant hill and observe their behavior. Go on a bug hunt and see who can spot the most insects. Catch some lightening bugs! Teach your kids about bee safety. You could even visit the Insectarium at the zoo to check out some exotic butterflies. Just be sure to check out some books from the library to enhance your child's knowledge.
