Announcing the 2012 Write Stuff Writing Contest Winners!

Thank you to all who participated in this year's Write Stuff writing contest here at SLCL! We had 117 entries in three different age categories: 7-10, 11-14 and 15-18.  Everyone started with the writing prompt, "I could not believe what came out from under my bed that morning." The entries were varied--from laundry monsters to Chuck Norris-- and creative, as you can imagine. We had a difficult time deciding on the winners, but decide we did, and here they are! Drumroll, please!

In the 7-10 year-old category we have:

1st place- "Trash Monster" by Mahtab C., age 10
2nd place- "The Colorful Healing" by Annessa S., age 9
3rd place- "Monster Mouse" by Theresa K., age 10

In the 11-14 year-old category we have:

1st place- "3am" by Julia Z., age 14
2nd place- "The Dream Portal" by Claire H., age 12
3rd place- "The Monster From Under My Bed" by Brenna B., age 11

And in the 15-18 year-old category we have:

1st place- "He is one of the angels" by Lesley S., age 15
2nd place- "Meeting Chuck" by Kyle W., age 15
3rd place- "The Creature Within" by Uttara C., age 16

Winners can pick their prizes and certificates up at the children's desk at Headquarters on Friday, April 27 or any day thereafter.
