Staff Review: "Split! Splat!" by Amy Gibson

Sing-song picture book "Split! Splat! by Amy Gibson" has arrived at SLCL just in time to celebrate the month of showers and poetry! Using loads of onomatopoeia, Amy Gibson creates a lyrical rain-play song that will give all puddle-splashers a reason to smile. With nice large and limited text, even toddlers might be able to sit still through this picture book. Illustrator Steve Bjorkman catches the spirit of the rain-dance with his bold and festive illustrations of kids at play. Be sure to look for the mouse on every page! Grab this title for a rainy day and then go play outside (but please leave the book inside!). Recommended for ages 18 months and up.
