Review: "Who Done It?" by Olivier Tallec

There's something delightful about a seek-and-find book. From the striped shirt of "Where's Waldo" to the colorful chaos of an "I Spy" book, every child (and many adults!) delights in the hunt. Olivier Tallec, in his new picture book "Who Done it?," brings the seek-and-find book to the youngest of readers with style and humor. 

With the spine at the top of the book, a narrow page, and heavy paper, the physicality already makes it a fun and unique read. Each page spread has a line-up of eight to twelve characters doing various things, and a sentence about something specific to look for, "Who didn't get enough sleep?," "Who is nervous?." The sparseness of characters to choose from makes it simple enough for a toddler to pick some of them out, but the complexity of some of the questions makes it interesting enough for an older reader as well. Recommended for toddlers on up.
