James Ransome is well known for his illustrations of children’s classics such as “Sweet Clara and the Freedom Quilt” and “Aunt Flossie’s Hats and Crab Cakes Later”, but he recently authored and illustrated a handful of books, including “New Red Bike!” and “My Teacher.”
“Sweet Clara and the Freedom Quilt”, written by Deborah Hopkinson, is a story about the Underground Railroad and how Clara created a quilt that served as a map to freedom.
