Patricia Polacco to Visit

St. Louis County Library is thrilled to announce that beloved children's author Patricia Polacco will be visiting Monday, September 9!
Polacco is the author of "The Keeping Quilt," the story of her great-grandmother's coming to America. She has written a companion book about her great-grandmother called "The Blessing Cup."

Meet the author, Monday, September 9 at the Headquarters branch. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Event starts at 6:30 p.m.

"The Keeping Quilt" A homemade quilt ties together the lives of four generations of an immigrant Jewish family, remaining a symbol of their enduring love and faith.

 

"The Blessing Cup" A wedding gift to Anna's parents, a tea set came with a wish that anyone who drinks from this will have blessings from God. They will never know a day of hunger. Their lives will always have flavor. They will know love and joy and they will never be poor. When Anna's family leaves Russia for America, they bring the tea set and its blessings.
