“The 14 Fibs of Gregory K.” by Greg Pincus

In "The 14 Fibs of Gregory K." by Greg Pincus everyone in Gregory’s family is math geniuses, except Gregory. Gregory is a word genius, not something his father and older brother understand at all. To make it through math class, and to fit in with his family, Gregory fibs about his math ability. The fibs start out simple enough but gain speed and complication with each additional deceit until Gregory can’t find a way to make it stop.

Now he is signed up for City Math competition, a competition his father and brother have won awards in, so this is a big deal. The competition is days away and Gregory hasn’t even started working on his math exhibit. On top of that, his father is planning on sending Gregory to Math is Magic summer camp, the last thing he wants to do. His math teacher knows he hates math, his best friend knows he is lying about everything, his sister has even figured it out; so, why can’t Gregory tell the truth to the rest of his family? Read this fun book and find out.

Recommended for grades 4-6
